I came across a news article on CBS Denver, and I’m amazed that there are schools that teach Chinese immersion to elementary school kids.

Denver Language School is a K-8 language immersion school in Denver, Colorado, United States. Most classes are taught in Spanish or Mandarin Chinese. On June 1, 2017, the first class to finish their program graduated.

The Spanish students are mainly from Latin American families who wish that they keep their cultural identity. But others like Rhae Schulz were sent there to study Mandarin Chinese. Rhae Schulz has an adopted Chinese sister, and her parents feel that sending both to the language school will make the two siblings closer.

Will Chinese be the next big thing for US schools?
